What members of staff have said:

“Since attending dramatherapy ‘ Jade’ has become much more confident and is now beginning to participate in small group discussions.  She is beginning to give her opinions and share ideas with adults from whom she gets support in a smaller group.  She is also becoming confident in reading and composing good sentences.”

Mrs Maria Gurdas, Year 2 Class teacher, Fransciscan Primary School.

‘Matthew’ has improved so much since he has received dramatherapy.  He has built up a lot of confidence and is more eager to share his learning especially during carpet sessions.  He doesn’t cry as much and he is beginning to understand some of the social codes within a learning and playground environment.”  He looks forward to his weekly drama (therapy) sessions.”

Year 2 class teacher of a child with autism, Fenstanton Primary School.

“The Buddy club gave ‘Emily’ a chance to try different activities such as elements of drama when we went on "the journeys." She was acting and joining in singing, being aware of other children around her.  ‘Emily’ worked on her communication and social skills when taking turns and sharing, making friends. She also improved on boundaries and is much better when asked not to hug children or staff or touch their faces.  I liked the drama activity, I think it was a new and very nice way of bringing everyone together. Well done Shereene!

“Shereene has successfully integrated her role as Dramatherapist with that of team leader, demonstrating organisational skills as well as clinical flexibility. Shereene has been very sensitive to this client group’s learning and social needs, modulating all activities to the required level, with a good degree of open mindedness.  She strikes me as conscientious and always aiming at providing the best service to her organisation and client group.”

Parent of a year 3 pupil with ESL, Fenstanton Primary School

'It's been such a journey for M, and I'm so pleased you have been a consistent source of support for him; I don't think he would be as open and attuned to discussing his feelings and issues and reflecting on events and his emotions if he hadn't worked with you for over 3 years. As it is, I feel I have a son who is starting to be well-equipped to deal with life's travails.

What other professionals have said:

"The drama workshop, led by Shereene, was a great way to allow women to discover their inner feelings, take risks and make social contact with one another in quirky and adventurous ways.  It was exhilarating to see the young women wholly participate in the workshop while also foster team building skills and communication skills when working in small groups.  I would definitely recommend this workshop to any organisation or institution".
