Dramatherapy in Brixton, London and surrounds

My name is Shereene Carnegie; thank-you for visiting my website.

I am a qualified dramatherapist and clinical supervisor.  I work principally in the field of education with children and young people of varying needs, abilities and cultural backgrounds.

Dramatherapy has been practised in the UK since the 1970s and is regulated by the Health & Care professions Council; its professional body is the British Association of Dramatherapists (BADth).

Having found your way to this site you probably know something about dramatherapy but information about what it is can be found here.

I currently work with children, young people and adults who have been referred to me by a special educational needs coordinator (SENCO), teacher, parents or carers. Some of the presenting issues have been:

  • Social: Lack of listening, communication and social communication skills, inability to show understanding and empathy, difficulty engaging with peers and building friendships.
  • Emotional: Trauma, bereavement or loss, attachment issues and care problems.
  • Behavioural: Anger, disruptiveness, bullying, poor coping strategies and emotional resilience, low concentration levels and memory.
  • Mental health conditions: Anxiety, low self-esteem and lack of confidence, depression, poor self-image and health related matters.
  • Learning difficulties: Mild to profound and multiple learning difficulties, lack of creativity and imagination.
