Experience
I have over fifteen years’ experience working with children and young people in different capacities.
During my initial degree studies I trained and volunteered as a youth mentor, supporting young people during transitional periods of their lives. Having gained this I spent two years working as a drama practitioner, actress/storyteller, teaching assistant and applied behaviour analysis (ABA) therapist. It was the experience and skills gained during this time and in performing arts that inspired an interest in using drama therapeutically and led to my taking an MA in dramatherapy.
Since then I have worked as a dramatherapist in education and a private practice both in person and online. I am currently training to become a creative arts clinical supervisor.
For 8 years I collaborated with an art therapist, at an after-school club, in delivering therapeutic and multi-sensory group sessions for children and young people with mild to severe learning difficulties.
My specialist areas are: Children and young people, young adults, SEND, transracial adoption, twins, attachment difficulties, domestic abuse, divorce and separation, bereavement and loss, anxiety and trauma. I also specialise in working dyadically with siblings and a parent and child.
I am registered on the online DBS update service. I also have professional liability insurance and a full clean driver's licence.
